THE LOW-DOWN
In March of last year, Amy and Thomas traveled from Melbourne to celebrate their love in bold, unapologetic fashion. Set against the iconic backdrop of the Hard Rock Hotel at Woodstock Lawn, their wedding day was a striking celebration of romance, fun, and pure rock n’ roll.
One of the most jaw-dropping details of the day? Amy designed her own wedding dress! After more than eight months of anticipation waiting for it to come in, it was finally ready, and it was absolutely worth it! The gown featured a fitted bodice with intricate embroidered lace detailing that added both texture and romance. A detachable skirt and train allowed her to transition effortlessly from ceremony elegance to reception-ready glam. It was dramatic, sophisticated, and completely stunning on her.
The ceremony space itself was a true statement. A bold black rectangular frame anchored the altar, creating a modern architectural feel. The asymmetrical floral installation added dimension and texture with layered dried palm fans in neutral beige tones. Nestled among the fans was a lush arrangement of deep burgundy and plum blooms, soft lavender accents, delicate white filler flowers, and fresh greenery. The design perfectly balanced softness with edge; a signature detail for a Rock n’ Roll wedding that still felt romantic and refined.
As the sun began to set, guests transitioned into a reception that fully embraced the couple’s edgy aesthetic. Black tablecloths set a dramatic foundation, while record-inspired table numbers added a playful nod to their love of music. The floral arrangements featured beaded red roses, bringing texture, richness, and that unmistakable red-and-black drama throughout the room. Even their cake tied seamlessly into the theme! Designed in black and red, it featured bold red roses and a studded black trim that gave it a subtle, rock-inspired edge. It was modern, moody, and completely on-brand for the celebration.

What modern or trendy elements did the couple include?
They included a 360 photo booth at their reception, which was such a fun and trendy touch! Guests had the best time hopping on the platform and capturing slow-motion videos. It definitely kept the energy up throughout the night and gave everyone a super fun, shareable keepsake to remember the celebration!
What was something about this event that really stood out to you and made it different?
One of the biggest standout moments from this wedding was the bride’s dress. She actually designed it herself, which made it feel even more special and personal! It took over eight months to come in, and the anticipation was so worth it.
