THE LOW-DOWN
With it being October 1st, I couldn’t think of a better wedding to feature than Shanna and Joe’s unique celebration at the Hard Rock Hotel’s Butterfly Garden! This stylish couple traveled from Vermont to Orlando to host their unforgettable May wedding, and it was truly one-of-a-kind. Shanna wowed everyone in her stunning black wedding dress, complete with layers of tulle and a jeweled black tiara that gave her an elegant yet edgy look. Joe perfectly complemented her in an all-black suit, creating a bold statement that set the tone for their gothic-inspired day.
Their ceremony at the Butterfly Garden was filled with romance and just the right amount of drama, and the details they incorporated carried that theme seamlessly into the reception. Their décor featured skull accents, including a glittery purple skull that added a pop of color, and their cake topper was a playful skeleton couple that guests absolutely loved. Instead of a traditional cake, Shanna and Joe opted for a doughnut tower, which was such a fun and unexpected touch!
One of our favorite parts of their wedding day was their portrait session. After the reception, Shanna and Joe headed to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal, where they took unforgettable photos that highlighted their love for the fandom and matched their wedding aesthetic perfectly.

What modern or trendy elements did the couple include?
The bride and her family curated all the décor, and set everything! I love how collected everything looked. This couple also didn’t have the traditional white dress wedding. The bride wore a black wedding dress and a black tiara – I LOVED it and it was stunning on her! I love that she went for this bold statement!
What was something about this event that really stood out to you and made it different?
Shanna didn’t want a cake, so the hotel made her a tower of donuts instead! There was even a bride and groom skeleton sitting on top!
