Lisa and Ashlee’s black and purple wedding at Portofino Bay Hotel was a bold and unforgettable celebration filled with edgy details and meaningful moments. The couple was married in April of last year at the stunning Loews Portofino Bay Hotel Citrus Piazza, where they brought their unique vision to life surrounded by their closest family and friends. We were so excited to be part of their day and help ensure everything came together seamlessly!
Lisa and Ashlee embraced a black and purple wedding color palette that perfectly complemented the romantic, European-inspired setting of the venue. The deep purple tones paired with rich black accents created a dramatic and stylish atmosphere that carried beautifully throughout both their ceremony and reception.
Ashlee looked absolutely stunning in her black Maggie Sottero gown, which added such a striking and elegant touch to the day. Lisa opted for a classic suit with a fun twist, wearing a black vest featuring an all-over skull design underneath. One of our favorite details was how Ashlee’s bouquet also included subtle skull accents — something she didn’t even realize Lisa had incorporated into her look as well. It felt like such a fun and meant-to-be moment!
The couple fully leaned into their edgy theme with personalized details throughout the day. Their “’til death do us part” theme was carried into their guest favors with custom mason jar mugs, as well as their matching Converse sneakers featuring the same phrase. These thoughtful touches added so much personality and made the celebration feel truly one-of-a-kind.
Their cake was another standout element of this black and purple wedding. The design featured black drippy icing, dramatic black roses, and a “’til death” cake topper, perfectly tying in their theme while adding a bold and modern edge to the reception décor.
Following their ceremony, guests enjoyed a lively reception filled with dancing, laughter, and plenty of fun at the photobooth. The energy throughout the evening was incredible, and it was clear how much everyone was enjoying celebrating Lisa and Ashlee!

What was something about the wedding day that evoked emotion in you, the clients, and/or their guests?
The couple just showed so much love for one another; our whole team just couldn’t get over how sweet they were together.
What was something about this event that really stood out to you and made it different?
Ashlee and Lisa chose to have stations for their meal, which was so fun and got all their guests up and mixing and mingling right from the start of their reception!
