We had the absolute joy of coordinating Rachel and Ray’s stunning waterfront wedding at Evermore Resort last November. This sweet couple, hailing from nearby Winter Park, celebrated their special day surrounded by 74 of their closest family and friends. With Evermore’s picturesque Boathouse Lawn as their ceremony backdrop and the water sparkling just steps away, it was a picture-perfect autumn day filled with love, style, and a little tropical flair!
Rachel and Ray chose a tropical theme, which beautifully complemented the tones of their waterfront wedding venue. Their ceremony arch featured striking Monstera leaves that added texture and vibrancy, and the theme continued into the reception with large greenery centerpieces.
One of the sweetest parts of the day came during the reception, when the couple slipped away to their hotel room to share a private meal together. It was a quiet, meaningful moment amid the excitement of the day. When they returned, they surprised their guests with stylish outfit changes: Rachel in a playful floral embroidered mini dress and Ray in a black suit with suspenders, ready to dance the night away!

The Just Marry! team was honored to be part of Rachel and Ray’s waterfront wedding at Evermore resort as their Day-of wedding planners! We asked their planner, Emylie, a few questions about the big day, and here is what she had to say:
What modern or trendy elements did the couple include?
Rachel’s dad met her halfway through her walk, so she was able to get some pictures with just herself walking and some with her dad. The couple also had a content creator who was able to get more behind the scenes and social media footage.
What was something about this event that really stood out to you?
Rachel and Ray skipped having a traditional sweetheart table and instead went back to their flat while all of their guests were eating dinner. They shared a private meal and changed into their reception attire, returning refreshed and ready to party!
What was something you did during the couples’ planning or on their wedding day that “saved the day”?
They were wanting to do a staged exit with sparklers, so I recommended for them to get extended length sparklers and have lighters/matches for at least every other person. They attached the matches to each, and it went very well with the timing! Everyone’s sparklers were lit at the same time and lasted long enough that the photographer was able to get lots of stunning pictures!
What was the couple’s choice of first dance song?
“Love You More Than Yesterday”.
