Royal Wedding Theme | Matthew and Antonio at The Castle Hotel

Royal wedding ceremony at The Castle Hotel

THE LOW-DOWN

Florida couple Matthew and Antonio decided The Castle Hotel was the perfect venue to capture their royal wedding theme, and we couldn’t agree more! The team at this elegant boutique hotel truly welcomes their guests like royalty. The grooms started their wedding day by exchanging their vows among the towering turrets of The Sky Terrace on The Castle’s rooftop. Then they celebrated with their guests in the majestic Gallery where they danced the night away. Huzzah!

We thought Matthew and Antonio’s wedding color scheme of deep purple, royal blue, and gold was not only perfect for their royal wedding theme, but also for their October wedding date. The Castle’s Gallery, designed in soft neutrals, was the ideal backdrop to showcase the grooms’ bolder jewel tones. It all came together in a vibrant, festive celebration!

There were many other creative ways that Matthew and Antonio captured their royal wedding theme. Each of their wedding attendants were given royal titles for the event, such as “Advisor to the Crown” or “Oracle to the Crown.” The grooms wore themed attire, including custom-made vests and capes in colors associated with royalty. Even their shoes fit the theme, with Antonio’s bearing golden royal crests on them! Their reception tables were draped with regal banners in their theme colors, and they displayed a family crest as part of their décor.

Perhaps our favorite royal touch, though, was when each of the grooms was presented a regal crown during the ceremony. Their officiant used a ceremonial sword to “knight” them after they exchanged their vows. The grooms later used this sword to cut their cake! Even their wedding cake topper had two gold crowns, fully tying their royal wedding theme together.

WHAT WE LOVED

The Just Marry! team was delighted to help Matthew and Antonio bring their royal wedding theme to life at The Castle Hotel! We asked their Day-of wedding planner, Ellis, a few questions about the big day, and here is what she had to say:

How was the planning process with the couple?

It was great! Matthew and Antonio had a vision for their day, and they wanted to take the lead in their wedding planning. I was a source of support for them whenever they needed it. Our team had a lot of fun bringing everything together for them on the big day!

What was something about this event that really stood out to you?

The grooms commissioned custom-made suits and capes to wear as their wedding attire. This fit their royal wedding theme perfectly, and I thought it was super creative and detailed!

What fun personal touches did the couple include?

Their dog, Elsa, was the “ring bearer!” She wore a gold dress and a custom floral collar, and she even had a special introduction after the grooms walked down the aisle. She was introduced as, “Elsa Dawn Brooks (Princessa of House Lord-Brooks, Bearer of the Unity Rings/Royal Rings).” Also, instead of a traditional unity ceremony, Matthew and Antonio had a crowning ceremony where they were each bestowed custom crowns. They wore them all night and the guests absolutely loved it!

What was the couple’s choice of first dance song?

“Honeybee” by The Head and the Heart.
