Local couple Marte and Matthew held their nature themed wedding at the beautiful Reunion Resort on the first of June last year. Late spring is a lovely time to have a wedding that is nature themed, even if you decide to host it indoors like this couple did. With Orlando’s unpredictable weather that time of year, we thought they made a wise choice hosting their ceremony and reception in the hotel’s Grande Ballroom!
Marte looked absolutely gorgeous in her sleeveless sheath wedding gown. Matthew wore a classic black tux with a bow tie. They made such an elegant and joyful pair! It was clear throughout the day how much they loved each other.
There were many thoughtful ways this couple’s event details reflected a nature themed wedding. Their white and soft green wedding color palette and the natural greenery motif on their wedding stationery set the tone. Their personal floral and décor was also lushly accented with greenery, and their wedding cake was covered in greenery and white floral. We also loved the stained wood clothes pins holding their table assignments on their green and white display. Such a subtle, natural touch!

Tell us about something unexpected that happened on the wedding day.
When my team and I got to the ceremony site about an hour and a half before the scheduled start time, I noticed the black runner the bride had requested had not been set. I tracked down the delivery person and made sure that they would return in time to set the runner before the ceremony. Thankfully, they did!
What was something about this event that really stood out to you?
Marte and Matthew had many “wow” factors, such as cold sparks, dancing on a cloud, textured lighting, and a confetti blast. These elements made for stunning photos and their guests went crazy!
What was something about this event that truly touched you?
I did a lot of the planning with the mother of the groom, Alanna. Seeing her face as she walked into the completed ballroom after all the hard work and planning that she did with Matthew and Marte was just so touching! She was so sweet throughout the evening, thanking me for my assistance. I love working with sweet families and helping make their dream day come to life!
What fun traditions did the couple include?
The couple had guests clink glasses or come up and sing a song with the word “love” in it, and when that happened, they stood on their chairs and kissed. It was a fun way to get guests involved in their reception and made for some great memories!
