Katie and Omar held their magical wedding at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in early November last year. This sweet Virginia couple traveled to Orlando with their dearest loved ones to host their unforgettable destination wedding. Our team had the pleasure of working with them as their Day-of wedding planners, and we thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our time with them!
There were many magical wedding elements to enjoy about Katie and Omar’s special day. The couple is fans of fantasy, fairytales, and comic books…everything magical! Their invitations welcomed guests to their fairytale wedding, the groom’s vow book had dragon artwork on the cover, their cake topper included a groom holding a sword and his bride’s hand, and Omar wore a Spider-Man pin with his boutonniere. The couple even visited Universal Studios and got professional photos taken in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter during their time in Orlando!
Katie wore a stunning beaded lace ballgown with a tiara. We thought she looked like a princess! Omar wore a black, long-sleeved shirt with a blue vest, pairing perfectly with his bride. We also loved the fall wedding colors they chose for their floral. They included tones of orange, deep red, soft yellow, and ivory, with subtle touches of blue, which carried through to the wedding party attire. It all looked beautiful in their wedding photos!

How was the planning process with the couple?
It was so amazing! It was very important to me that Katie knew she had a wedding planner who was always there for her, so she and I spoke frequently throughout her wedding planning. I guided her through the process and helped book vendors for her, serving as the “middle-woman” for the communication with vendors and making sure she thoroughly enjoyed every moment of her wedding planning.
What was something about this event that really stood out to you?
The couple’s champagne flutes were so unique! Their flutes created a heart when they were put together, and I had never seen anything like it before. They also had a buffet, but what made this buffet different was that they had stations inspired by foods from different countries they have visited and loved. The guests loved the variety!
What was something about this event that truly touched you?
Katie’s brother walked her down the aisle and I thought that was so special! I loved the bond they share.
What trendy wedding elements did the couple include?
The couple’s escort cards were personalized cookies, which were such a cute and delicious treat for their guests!
