THE LOW-DOWN
Davenport, Florida couple Randee and Carson said “I do” this past February at the gorgeous Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress, surrounding themselves with 114 of their favorite people for a weekend full of heart, whimsy, and just the right amount of Disney magic. Our team had so much fun serving as their Day-of wedding coordinators for the big day!
Randee and Carson exchanged vows at the resort’s lovely Cypress Pointe, with guests later making their way to the Grand View Terrace for cocktail hour before dancing the night away at La Coquina. Before any of that, though, came two of our favorite kinds of wedding moments: a sweet first look between Randee and her dad, followed by the couple’s own first look together. There’s just something about those quiet, just-for-them minutes before a wedding gets going that always gets us!
This wedding’s color palette of crimson, grey, and soft light pink set a romantic and elegant tone throughout the day, but it was the personal touches that really made Randee and Carson’s wedding feel like, well, them. Eagle-eyed guests probably spotted a few subtle nods to Disney sprinkled into the décor, including charming Mickey figurines, a castle-shaped guest book, and a map pinboard for guests to mark where they traveled from. We also loved that the floral arch from the ceremony didn’t just get packed away afterward, it got a second life when the wedding party carried it over to the reception space for an encore appearance!
Since both Randee and Carson are gluten free, the couple made sure their guests could celebrate the way they wanted without anyone missing out on dessert. Their three-tier red velvet wedding cake was complemented by a gluten-free red velvet cupcake just for the bride, while Carson opted for a groom’s cake that doubled as a serious conversation starter: a 16-inch gluten-free chocolate chip cookie cake. We have a feeling that top tier they saved and sent home (red velvet with peanut butter mousse) didn’t last long after the honeymoon!

What modern or trendy elements did the couple include?
The couple added so many fun and personal touches throughout their wedding day that made the celebration feel uniquely theirs! Guests loved the interactive Shoe Game, and the couple also created a memorable staircase exit to “A Sky Full of Stars,” adding a fun and dramatic ending to the evening.
What was something about the wedding day that evoked emotion in you, the clients, and/or their guests?
The day was filled with so many sweet and emotional moments that made the celebration feel extra special. One of the most memorable moments was the Father/Daughter dance to “You’ll Be in My Heart,” which was such a heartfelt tribute to their bond. The prayer shared by Paul Shepherd during the reception was another meaningful moment that brought everyone together and added such a special touch to the celebration! It was a day full of love, laughter, and memories that the couple and their guests will cherish forever!
