One of the votives on the cake table was accidentally bumped by a guest, and wax spilled all over the edge of the cake stand and the table linen. We didn’t know about it until minutes before the cake cutting was supposed to take place. My assistant, Faith, and I quickly scraped the wax off the cake stand and covered the spot on the linen with loose floral, making it look like a deliberate table decoration. No one ever knew the difference!

It went great! Alexis did much of her own planning (and she did an amazing job!), but she did ask for some vendor recommendations along the way. I was happy to provide those for her. She ended up hiring a phenomenal vendor team!

Having the wedding at a private home isn’t something we see very often. I loved that Alexis and Greg made it a big wedding weekend for them and their family. Their guests rented homes in the area, making it easy for everyone to get to and from the wedding location. The mansion was also a lovely place for Alexis and Greg to spend their first few days together as husband and wife!

Alexis is very close with her mom, Paula, and Paula gave the toast. It was such a sweet and emotional moment for everyone! There was also a really touching moment between Greg and the couple’s dog, Blue. Greg lit up when Blue arrived for their fun pre-ceremony photos!

Alexis and Greg had a beautiful floral wall with a neon sign that a friend of theirs created and set up for them. It was an amazing photo spot throughout the event! They also had a large champagne bottle that they used as a guest book, which was something unique that her guests commented on several times.

The couple celebrated all the typical wedding traditions and included a first look with Alexis and her dad as well as between Alexis and Greg. They also had a last song followed by a sparkler and golf cart exit, which was so cute!
