Fun Reception Ideas for People Who Don’t Dance | Organizing

Today I’m sharing some fun and creative reception ideas I think you’re going to love. Why this topic, you ask? Well, when most people think about wedding receptions, they picture themselves either dancing or sitting at their table. But there are actually many fun activities you can do at a reception besides dancing! Read on to learn how to entertain those wedding guests who don’t like to dance.

10+ RECEPTION IDEAS YOU’LL WANT FOR YOUR WEDDING
A live artist
This is one of the most on-trend reception ideas on this list! Hire a live artist for guests to watch as the artist paints or draws a scene right from your wedding. What makes this idea even better is you will get a special, one-of-a-kind painting as a keepsake!

A caricaturist
A similar idea to a live artist is a caricaturist. These artists will create one-of-kind pieces of art for you and your guests, providing both entertainment and an amazing wedding favor for guests to take with them!
An interactive photo booth
Out of all the reception ideas to entertain guests off the dance floor, this is my favorite! There are several different types of photo booths out there, and they’re such a fun way to keep your guests entertained. Bring out the props and start capturing some lifelong memories!

Other live entertainers
Looking for reception ideas that have a little more energy? Great! There are plenty of jaw-dropping and knee-slapping options for you. Think acrobats, dancers, fire eaters, stand-up comedians, mimes, celebrity impersonators, drag queens, walking tables, magicians, and illusionists. These entertainers will be sure to WOW your guests!

Lawn games
Lawn games are another popular interactive reception idea. There are so many fun games and activities you and your guests can enjoy! Some popular options include giant Jenga, corn hole (you can get the boards personalized for your wedding, too!), life-size checkers or chess, and a ring toss. This is a great way to get everyone up out of their chairs, socializing, and enjoying themselves!
A “build you own dessert” bar
If you have a sweet tooth, having a “build your own dessert” bar is one of the most delicious reception ideas you could have! Some yummy ideas include an ice cream sundae bar, a chocolate fountain with dipping options such as marshmallows, fruit, pretzels, cookies, and Rice Krispy’s, or a caramel or chocolate dipped apple station.
Another personal fave? A s’mores bar! This option is great for outdoor events any time of year!

Karaoke
Your wedding guests might not enjoy dancing, but what about singing? If your venue allows for it, set up a karaoke machine in a space away from the dance floor. Guests will love testing their vocal chops, especially once the bar opens!
