THE LOW-DOWN
Laura and Dan had a unique Pokemon wedding at the Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek in late May last year. As huge fans of the popular Japanese media franchise, the couple thought this would be a fun way to infuse their wedding with their personal style. We just loved how it all turned out! From their carefully chosen color palette to the topper on their cake, every choice they made really brought their Pokemon wedding to life!
We thought Laura and Dan’s wedding color palette of black, white, peach, blush, and pale champagne was perfect for their theme and venue. And they included such thoughtful details in their day! We especially loved that the groom and groomsmen wore superhero socks with their suits, and the couple served Ramen noodles as a late-night snack for their guests.
The real star of this event, though, was the careful attention to all the Pokemon wedding details! The men wore Poke Ball cuff links and played a Pokemon card game to pass the time, there were Pokemon themed place cards, table numbers, and favors, and there were even Pikachu dolls at the sweetheart table. Laura and Dan also had Poke Ball centerpieces, a Pikachu cake topper, and Poke Ball cake decorations. There was no question that this couple is passionate about all things Pokemon!

The Just Marry! team had a wonderful time helping Laura and Dan bring their Pokemon wedding to life at Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek! We asked their Just Marry! event coordinator, Krista, a few questions about the event day, and this is what she shared:
What can you share about the planning experience with the couple?
Jordan worked with Laura and Dan on all of their wedding planning, but unfortunately ended up getting sick right before the wedding day. She was so disappointed she couldn’t be on site! Thankfully, our team is prepared for these kinds of unexpected hiccups. Jordan quickly brought me up to speed and connected me with the couple. I couldn’t have been happier to make sure everything came together on the wedding day!
What was something about this event that really stood out to you?
I thought their Pokemon wedding theme was so fun and unique! Laura and Dan are huge gamers, and even mentioned it in their wedding vows. I loved that they included such a sweet person detail!
What was the couple’s choice of first dance song?
“I Choose You” by Ryanne Darling.
