The Orlando tent wedding of Angela and Johan really demonstrated how working with a professional wedding planner can make all the difference! Just Marry! president and wedding planner, Susan Southerland, had the honor of working with this lovely couple on their late-November wedding. It turned out to be anything but a traditional planning experience for any of them!
Only a matter of months before the wedding, Susan had to work with Angela and Johan to re-plan the wedding reception after the first venue experienced an unexpected closure. If Angela had to do it on her own, it would have been really stressful for her! Instead, she was able to rely on Susan to help pick up the pieces and transition this wedding into something even more spectacular than initially planned.

The Just Marry! team so enjoyed working with Angela and Johan on their beautiful Orlando tent wedding! Here are some of the details their Just Marry! wedding planner, Susan, shared with us about their event:
- Favorite detail
The reception venue! The reception wasn’t initially supposed to be at Johan’s family home, but issues came up with the original reception site so we had to make a quick change a few months prior to the wedding. We had to rent a tent, bathrooms, lights, chair, tables, linens…EVERYTHING! In the end, everything turned out to be so stunning. The weather was perfect. The view was gorgeous. It was truly breathtaking!
- Most emotional moment
Seeing Angela and Johan walk in when everything was set up. I’ve known Angela for years. She was a catering manager and we partnered on many memorable weddings. It was such an honor that she asked me to help her with her wedding! She was so nervous about how everything would turn out. To see her face light up when she saw the tent brought me to tears.
- Fave part of the planning process with the clients
Angela was so great to work with! She knew what she wanted and was able to articulate it with precision. I only had to find the vendors who could handle it. While it was nerve-wracking to have to change all of the plans when the original reception site didn’t work out, it was so rewarding to see how it turned out!
- A unique element I loved
I just loved the view of the lake and how it set off the tent and the flowers! Also, Angela created a flower wall (as if she had lots of spare time!) that made a great photo backdrop at the cocktail hour and then a backdrop for their sweetheart table.

- What the couple wore
Angela wore a gorgeous lace Paloma Blanca wedding gown and Johan wore a classic blue suit and bowtie. They looked absolutely amazing together!
