Royal Pacific Resort Wedding
Today we’re featuring the wedding of Dawn and Julie at the Loews Royal Pacific Resort. Just Marry!’s Senior Event Manager, Leanna McDonald, had the pleasure of working with the happy couple on their tropical destination wedding last month. We reached out to Dawn to learn more about her experience. Please read on to learn what she had to say!
- Dawn, how did you and Julie meet? On my first day at work in February 2003, Julie was already working there. We are both Police Officers. We then started dating in the September 2003.
- When was the moment that you knew you wanted to marry Julie? I knew the moment I saw her I wanted to be with her. I remember bizarrely everything about the first moment I set eyes on her, even down to what she was eating!
- Tell us about the proposal. I proposed halfway up Table Mountain in South Africa in September 2008. It was a spur of the moment thing, but very romantic!
- Why did you choose your particular wedding location? We love Orlando and love Universal Studios so it seemed the perfect place!
- What challenges did you face during the planning process? Mainly the license and what was required from the UK in order to make it legal.
- What was your favorite wedding item purchase? A new cordless Dyson vacuum cleaner!
- What was the most memorable part of the day for you both? I think the fact that we both cried our eyes out, and that we both did readings for each other after our official vows.
- What was your biggest fear about the wedding day? That the weather would be bad.
- Were there any particular elements of your wedding day that you considered unique or personal touches? Readings we did for each other that were very personal.
- What advice would you give to other couples as they begin their planning process? Don’t be afraid…have faith in the planners and definitely use the services of a planner. Even for a small wedding like ours, it took the stress out of everything for us — especially if couples are lucky enough to get Leanna, who was superb!
- What are you most looking forward to in newlywed life? The security of actually being married!
