Bridal Shower Themes 2018 | From Planner to Planning
The Just Marry! family is simply thrilled to celebrate the engagement of one of our own, Danielle, to the love of her life, Jonathan. This blog series follows Danielle as she transitions from wedding planner to wedding planning!
Today we’ll continue the series as Danielle discusses her Orlando bridal shower. Take it away, Danielle!
I couldn’t resist shopping for some items for the bridal shower I anticipated here in Orlando. In the dollar section of Target I found some fun games, cute Mr. and Mrs. Coasters, and sashes for me and my wedding party to wear. To me, the most important element was the games – they’ve always been my favorite part of a bridal shower!
I wasn’t sure how I would pull off a bridal shower here in Orlando, as only one of my bridesmaids lives here, and the others are either over an hour away or out of state. My local bridesmaid, Danae, started planning with me and brainstorming ideas, but we never really came up with a solid plan. Over tea with the Just Marry! team to celebrate the Royal Wedding, Susan came up with the idea that they would start planning a shower for me!
When the Just Marry! ladies took on the planning of my bridal shower, I knew it would be more amazing than I could ever imagine. They kept their plans pretty top secret, which as a planner was so hard for me, but so worth it! They decided on an elegant Alice in Wonderland themed tea party. Danae created a beautiful invitation that fit the theme, and I was so impressed with how it came out – I’ve got quite the talented bridesmaid!
The day came for the bridal shower, and when I walked in the room and saw the amazing floral by Raining Roses, the décor, and the ladies who put all the hard work into planning the shower, I had to hold back tears. It was incredible, and more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. It was so nice to drink tea at the head of the table and see my friends and family who mean so much to me and Jonathan gathered there on that special day!
My maid of honor, Elizabeth, even came into town from D.C., and my bridesmaid Cali drove from Lakeland with her precious daughter, Payton. Payton may have stolen the show a little bit, but I was quite all right with that cutie getting some attention – some of my favorite pictures from the day are with her!
I made my rounds as best as I could, chatting with everyone and enjoying the tea and food. Time flew by! I would say to any couple attending their showers to take in every moment. Remember the room, the people, the things you laughed about. It was a day I’ll never forget because of that. Most importantly, have someone take pictures! I was so lucky that Danae brought her camera and she took endless amounts of pictures that are going to forever be so special to me. I could not have asked for a better day.
Once the shower was over and we headed home, Jonathan and I took some time to organize the items we received and are working on cleaning out our closets and cabinets to make room for the new things. It is super exciting, and we spent that evening sitting on the floor talking about how blessed our lives are, and that we are going to have quite the amazing future together. I tell him often that I love our little life, and that moment of looking into the future made me that much more excited for what is to come!
