Nearlyweds, today I have the fun task of discussing all things trendy in 2020 wedding attendant attire! With so many colors, fabrics, lengths, and more, fashion is everchanging. We even repeat history at times! So what should you be on the lookout for this year into next?
From bridesmaid dresses, to groomsmen attire, and mothers’ outfits, we have you covered on the latest and greatest trends in wedding attendant attire!
TOP 5 WEDDING ATTENDANT ATTIRE TRENDS
#1 – Different Fabrics and Styles
One trend we are seeing this year are bridesmaid dresses in similar hues but with different textured fabrics. This is a fun way to allow your bridesmaids to reflect their personal style and also keep everyone looking unique! We’ve seen sequined dresses mixed with your traditional chiffon or light and airy fabrics, and lace on each bridesmaid. This wedding attendant attire trend brings some extra dimension to your entire party as they stand next to you on your big day!
#2 – Groomsmen Suits
This year we expect to see groomsmen looking extra dapper in two-toned suits, such as navy suits with an extra sharp-looking black lapel as an accent. Groomsmen suit and/or tie colors that differ from the groom’s is also a trend we are seeing more in 2020. We love how it makes the groom stand out!
Of course, themed socks will continue to be a popular accessory with our groomsmen, making for fantastic photos. Shoes will also continue to reflect the couple’s style, such as their groomsmen wearing Converse, unique dress shoes, and more!
Just like those interesting fabrics with bridesmaids, we will also begin seeing more velvet suits, suits with patterns, and other unique touches in groomsmen attire to help the wedding party stand out and reflect their individual style.
#3 – A Variety of Colors
Color in wedding attendant attire always seems to top the trends list. From varying shades of pink and other hues on the bridesmaids, to the maid of honor wearing a different shade to set her apart from the rest of the bridal attendants, we love seeing an array of colors in photos. We’re happy to see that color trends are making their way into men’s attire too!
#4 – Jumpsuits
Jumpsuits are on the rise in stores and are quite the trend in wedding attire! Not only do we see this comfortable (and lovely) option on guests, but we are seeing these on best women and family or friend officiants as well. Jumpsuits are also the perfect, trendy option for dancing!
#5 – Mothers of the Bride
This year we’ve been seeing mothers of the couple wearing styles and colors complementing the wedding party or wedding theme. With metallics and accent colors being a big part of current wedding themes, they’re making their way into all wedding attendant attire, including mom’s gowns. Don’t worry…we’re still seeing traditional picks of any colors based on what the mothers want to wear as well!
