Sweet Rainy Day Wedding | Amanda and Catie at the WDW Swan and Dolphin
Beautiful brides Amanda and Catie didn’t plan on having a rainy day wedding at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort, but Mother Nature decided otherwise! The weather didn’t want to cooperate, and their early October event initially scheduled to take place outside on the Crescent Terrace moved indoors. It’s one of the hardest calls we wedding planners have to make. Fortunately, Amanda and Catie weren’t about to let the weather ruin their big day!
This couple included so many personal elements in their wedding, something we always love to see! Some of our favorite details included their custom shoes with Winne the Pooh quotes and rainbow stripes on the soles, their handmade flower girl Mickey head pomander, and the Cinderella pumpkins they used as a décor detail and centerpiece option. It all came together in a lovely homage to Disney and their love for each other!

The Just Marry! team so enjoyed working with Catie and Amanda on their sweet rainy day wedding at the WDW Swan! Here is what their Just Marry! wedding planner, Mairead, shared with us about their event:
- Favorite detail
The couple made their own centerpieces, and they turned out so beautiful! The centerpieces were carriages filled with florals and garlands. The brides really made the space their own with these stunning décor elements!
- Most emotional moment
When Amanda and Catie walked into the ballroom for their reception, they were taken aback by how spectacular the space looked! Despite being pulled indoors, the whole room design came together. With their centerpieces set, romantic candles lit, and soft up-lights illuminating the room, it looked amazing!
- A unique element I loved
The brides included a deep burgundy loveseat for the two of them at their sweetheart table. At one point in the evening, Catie and Amanda sat down on the loveseat for a moment and leaned into one another. It was so sweet seeing them have that moment together to take everything in and enjoy each other’s company!
