If you’re looking for some inspiration for a St. Patrick’s Day wedding, look no further! In case my name (Mairead…it rhymes with “parade”) didn’t already give it away, I am Irish! I’ve had the opportunity to travel around Ireland to visit family a few times, which is why I’m especially excited to share these St. Patrick’s Day wedding tips and tricks! Read on to learn how you can embrace this fun and festive holiday in an elegant wedding theme.

ST. PATRICK’S DAY WEDDING MUST HAVES
#1 – The Perfect Color Palette
Emerald green and gold make a striking color palette that is becoming more and more popular every year. Not only is it an elegant combination, it’s perfect for a St. Patrick’s Day wedding! It is so easy to include these colors in your wedding too, because nearly every wedding element can be found in them.
Two popular ways to include St. Patrick’s Day colors in a wedding is through attire and décor. Your bridesmaids could wear emerald green dresses, and your groom and groomsmen could complement them with emerald green ties and socks. There are also so many stylish and fun emerald green or gold heels brides can wear!
For your décor, a great way to bring out your St. Patrick’s Day theme is by including clovers and shamrocks throughout your wedding design. Consider adding them to your wedding cake, including them in your bouquet, or wearing them in your hair. And for your tables, emerald green linens or table runners with gold Chiavari chairs and charger plates will look amazing!

#2 – Irish Themed Wedding Favors
Did you know that the Gaelic word sláinte is a traditional Irish toast to one’s good health? Why not include it on your wedding favors? I’ve seen themed wedding coasters etched with sláinte that make a lovely gift.
Another fun St. Patrick’s Day wedding favor is mini bottles of Irish Whiskey. A favor I personally have and love is this shamrock trinity love knot wine bottle stopper. Or, if you’re looking for a DIY favor, you could dip pretzel rods into white chocolate tinted with green food dye or green sprinkles for a delicious themed snack your guests will love!

#3 – Irish Traditions in Your Ceremony
I absolutely adore when couples include an Irish blessing in their ceremony readings. I will forever get chills every time I hear one! There are so many beautiful blessings to choose from, so it won’t be hard to find one that means a lot to the both of you.
Other ways to incorporate beloved Irish traditions in your St. Patrick’s Day wedding are to do a handfasting for your unity ceremony and/or have a ring warming ceremony. This tradition is still very popular in Ireland. As the couple’s rings get passed around among the guests, each loved one says a blessing or wish for the couple.

#4 – An Irish Inspired Menu
Nothing says a St. Patrick’s Day wedding more than classic Irish foods and drinks! For your appetizers, Irish soda bread with an Irish pub salad is a great introduction to the other yummy foods to come. For your next course, consider serving small bowls of warm, hearty Irish stew. I recommend shepherd’s pie, smoked salmon, or corned beef with a side of roasted potatoes for your main course. And for a sweet treat at the end of the night, you could serve your guests some delicious blueberry scones or a warm apple crumble. They’ll love every bite!
