Nontraditional Wedding | Jessica and Dan at The Edison in Disney Springs

Jessica and Dan wanted a nontraditional wedding, so that’s just what they planned, complete with a fabulous reception at The Edison in Disney Springs. Our team was so honored to be a part of their big day as their reception coordinators. From their mid-week date of 2-2-22 to their stunning wardrobe choices, this was among our most fun and memorable events ever!
One of our favorite nontraditional wedding elements chosen by Jessica and Dan was their unique reception venue. The Edison dubs itself “an Industrial Gothic themed venue set in an abandoned power plant.” You can’t get much more original than that! This Disney Springs venue perfectly suited the couple’s décor choices, which blended Art Deco elements like crystals and feathers with steampunk elements like gears, metallics, and touches of Victorian design in their attire.
They also included some nontraditional wedding entertainment. Themed stilt walkers, walking tables, and a live band all gave guests an unforgettable experience. Jessica and Dan added to the fun when they changed from their ceremony clothes into completely different outfits. We especially loved that Jessica was married in a gorgeous black gown and then changed into a white gown afterwards. Talk about nontraditional!

Most emotional moment
When Jessica and Dan entered their reception, they were greeted by the entertainment, and it was such an overwhelming moment for them! They were both SO excited to see all of the fun details come together.

What the couple wore
Jessica had two dresses for her big day. The first one was a gorgeous black sequined gown, and the second one was a more traditional white wedding dress. She looked absolutely stunning in both of them! For the ceremony, Dan wore a suit with a black jacket and red shirt, the inverse of what his groomsmen wore. Then he changed it up into a steampunk-inspired ensemble that looked incredible in their photos.

Jessica and her mom knew that they wanted something different for the wedding day, and they truly embraced the theming of The Edison! From the cake and the feather centerpieces to the card box and the cocktail signs, they truly put together a perfectly themed evening!
