The spectacular lawn wedding of Stephanie and Hassan took place at Cypress Grove Estate House last September. Their late summer wedding was certainly one to remember, as rain threatened to put a damper on the day! Thankfully, their wedding planner, Ellis, thought ahead to Florida’s unpredictable September weather and advised the couple to rent a tent. It ended up saving the day!
We just loved Stephanie and Hassan’s wedding color palette of soft blue, blush pink, champagne, and ivory. It looked so romantic and timeless, softened with warm wood accents throughout their décor. There were a few subtle nods to Cinderella in their color palette and décor elements, which we thought was perfect for a Central Florida lawn wedding! Even the beautiful bride’s wedding dress complemented their overall soft, romantic theme.
Perhaps the most memorable elements of Stephanie and Hassan’s wedding day, though, were those that blended their Hispanic and Arabic cultures. They truly thought about what it means to join two families! From the cigar roller and coffee station to the traditional Lebanese wedding march, this wedding day celebrated each family’s most treasured traditions.

The Just Marry! team so enjoyed helping Stephanie and Hassan bring their stunning lawn wedding to life at Cypress Grove Estate House! We asked their wedding planner, Ellis, a few questions about the big day and this is what she shared:
Were there any key planning decisions you had to make with the couple?
Yes–the tent! September in Florida is still very much hurricane season, so I advised Stephanie and Hassan to rent a reception tent as Plan B. As Florida weather would have it, it was forecast to sprinkle that afternoon, so the venue made the call to shift the reception to the tent. I had a feeling this could happen from the beginning, so we prepared ahead of time and outfitted the tent with lots of beautiful additions!
How was the planning process with the couple?
Absolutely wonderful! We started planning in May, so we had less than five months to plan their wedding. However, I was there to be the couple’s support system, wedding planning expert, and ultimate “encourager” through it all! Stephanie and Hassan initially expressed interest in an intimate dinner; however, we ended up planning a beautiful outdoor wedding at Cypress Grove Estate House with 134 of their family and friends. It was a beautiful day and ended up being everything the couple dreamed of!
What was something about this event that really stood out to you?
The groom is from Lebanon, so he incorporated a Zaffet into their wedding, which I loved! A Zaffet (or zaffa, or wedding march) is a musical procession of bendir drums, bagpipes, horns, belly dancers, and men carrying flaming swords. It was the perfect grand entrance to start their reception! The groom’s sister, Diana, even mixed the playlist of Arabic music herself. The dance floor was full of guests the entire night!
Also, Stephanie has two cats who she adores! So, she blew up their heads on poster board and put sticks on them to hold for photos. We brought them out once dancing started at reception. It was so fun, and the kitties were so cute!
What was the couple’s choice of first dance song?
“At Last” by Etta James.
What modern or trendy elements did the couple include?
The custom welcome sign, the custom seating chart, and the phone guest book! The phone guest book was SO cool and such a creative item to incorporate. It was extremely easy to set up, rent, and use, and this is a hot trend I’m seeing more often!
