10+ Must-Haves for a Groom’s Emergency Kit | Organizing
If you’re a groom, you absolutely MUST have a groom’s emergency kit with you on your big day. Today I’m sharing my list of 10+ essentials every groom’s emergency kit should include so you’re prepared for anything on your wedding day. Read on…then start packing!
10+ MUST-HAVES FOR A GROOM’S EMERGENCY KIT
#1 - Deodorant
Right off the bat, let’s talk about the most important one! I highly recommend including a travel size gel or aerosol deodorant in your groom’s emergency kit, as using the traditional kind may leave behind white marks on darker clothes.
#2 - Pain relievers
Headaches happen, so every groom’s emergency kit should include some form of pain reliever. Be sure to bring a travel sized bottle of the pain medication of your choice in case you (or anyone in your party) needs it.
Bonus tip: also be sure to pack a chewable antacid like Tums to help keep your stomach settled!
#3 - Breath freshener
Dissolvable breath strips or mints are a great alternative to gum, as they freshen up your breath and dissolve quickly. This is a plus so you don’t forget to lose the gum before walking down the aisle or taking photos! Not only do mints freshen up your breath, but they’re a fantastic way to settle your stomach if the butterflies are flying full speed!
#4 - Cuff links and wardrobe essentials
On the off chance that someone forgets or loses a cuff link from a set, having an extra pair is very helpful! Honorable mentions for your forgetful gents: extra dress socks and dark shoe polish!
#5 - Band-Aids
Band-Aids should be a staple in every groom’s emergency kit! We wedding planners offer them most for blisters when our couples are breaking in those new dancing shoes. These can be a HUGE life saver on the wedding day!
#6 - Lint brush or roller
This one speaks for itself! A lint brush or lint roller is such a small but mighty tool to ensure that you look your absolute best.
#7 - Snacks
Having some quick, mess-free (a.k.a. stain-free) snacks available whenever you need to sneak in a bite is a groom’s emergency kit item everyone wishes they thought of. Some of my favorites include granola bars, protein bars, trail mix, pretzels, and popcorn. When hunger strikes, it cannot be ignored!
#8 - Self-care items
In all of the excitement, it’s easy to overlook some of our most basic needs. Be sure you have water bottles available to mix in some quick to-go packets of a hydrating supplement. If you’re having any outdoor events, you’ll also want sunscreen on-hand. And in today’s world, a bottle of hand sanitizer or package of sanitizing wipes is always a great idea!
#9 - Floss picks, dental floss, or toothpicks
We know this is the happiest day of your life, and your smile will reflect that! Including floss picks, dental floss, or toothpicks in your groom’s emergency kit will keep that smile looking fresh and photo ready all day!
#10 - Personal grooming supplies
No groom’s emergency kit would be complete without the basic grooming tools we all need: a comb or hairbrush, nail clippers, and small trimming scissors. You’d be amazed how much these simple emergency kit items are used by grooms and their wedding party!
