Nicole and Chris’s Fairytale Wedding at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort
THE LOW-DOWN
Nicole and Chris traveled all the way from Scotland for their fairytale wedding at the Walt Disney World Grand Floridian Resort this past May. We loved that they incorporated some elements of their Scottish heritage in their event! The men wore kilts, and the couple’s florals included Scottish thistle. Such wonderful ways to bring a little bit of home to their romantic destination wedding!
From their Disney wedding venue to their EPCOT Dessert Party at the end of the night, Nicole and Chris experienced a fairytale wedding from beginning to end. Nicole looked like a princess in her lace and tulle ballgown wedding dress and stunning tiara. (She even wore white Jimmy Choo sneakers under her dress!) They also had lush florals, an aisle runner wishing them Happily Ever After, and a “royal carriage,” a.k.a. a white Rolls Royce, to whisk them away after the ceremony. And if those fairytale wedding elements weren’t enough, they even had Cinderella’s Castle as their ceremony backdrop!
This wouldn’t have been a true Disney wedding without Disney elements, as well, and Nicole and Chris made sure to include several memorable ones. From their Disney themed wedding stationery and signage to their Cinderella themed guest book, place cards, and wedding cake, no detail was overlooked. They even invited Mickey and Minnie for a visit to surprise their guests!

The Just Marry! Team so enjoyed working with Chris and Nicole on their fairytale wedding at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort! We asked their wedding coordinator, Mairead, a few questions about the big day, and this is what she shared:
How did everything go on the wedding day?
Overall, everything went well! Right before everyone was about to go into Epcot for their dessert party, though, it started to pour. When we were finally able to get over to the reserved spot for the party 45 minutes later, my team and I quickly wiped down the chairs and tables so that they weren’t soaking wet when everyone got there. Everyone still had a great time!
What was something about this event that really stood out to you?
There was a really funny moment during the reception. The bride’s dad is not a big fan of Taylor Swift, so when they were on the dance floor, she played a little prank on him and played one of Taylor Swift’s songs for her dad. It got a lot of laughs!
Tell us about a moment during the wedding that truly touched your heart.
It was very hard saying goodbye to this couple! Their children’s speeches were so touching. They got emotional, and it was so nice to see the love they had for their parents.
What modern or trendy elements did the couple include?
I loved the dessert party at Epcot! They got awesome shots of the fireworks when they were out there, too.
