5 Key Bonding Moments Engaged Couples Experience | Analyzing

Today I’m going to share some of the key bonding moments you’ll experience with your future spouse during your wedding planning. These will be moments you can cherish when you look back on them as a newly married couple. Some of them you might expect, and others might come as a surprise. Let’s dive in!

BONDING MOMENT #1 – BUDGETING
One of the first bonding moments you will have during your wedding planning is discussing the budget. This conversation might be between just the two of you if you are paying for the wedding yourselves, or with family who may be helping out. You will dive deep into finances, clarify wants and needs, and get an understanding of each other’s comfort zones. Even if this important step takes some time, this bonding moment will set you up for success for the rest of your planning!
BONDING MOMENT #2 – SETTING THE DATE
We discussed how to choose your wedding date in a previous post. This is one of those discussions with your future spouse you will both remember for the rest of your lives! The bonding moments you share while making this decision will likely create fond memories. Your wedding date selection is a story of the two of you as a couple, so it should be a nice trip down memory lane!

BONDING MOMENT #3 – DECIDING WHO TO INVITE
As a couple, you are likely to have mutual friends as well as some that are exclusive. Either way, these are people you might intend to invite to stand up with you. Selecting your wedding party can be one of the most fun bonding moments you have while planning! I recommend thinking of a story for each potential wedding party member signifying why you want them standing next to you. Telling your partner this story will make the moment that much more meaningful!
Same goes for the guests you would like to invite. You are going to want people there who are cheerleaders for you and your future spouse – people who have been there supporting you from the start. When creating the guest list, and even while narrowing it down, you and your future spouse will have this lovely bonding moment together knowing the guests you are inviting will be those surrounding you with love and joy on your wedding day and into your future as a married couple!

BONDING MOMENT #4 – PRIORITIZING SERVICES
When discussing vendors and elements you would like to have on your wedding day, you are going to want to spend some couple time together talking through the importance scale of each. Taking the time to determine which services are most important to both of you as a couple will create more bonding moments.
You can even make it a fun game! Write each potential vendor on two pieces of paper with a line beside each one. Both of you then fill in the lines of importance from 1-5 and compare your lists. This should help you make some compromises and find a happy medium together!
BONDING MOMENT #5 – TEAMWORK
Throughout the entire planning process, you will have to work as a team. There are many memorable and foundation-building bonding moments you will share as you plan this big occasion. When choosing your vendors, creating your menu, picking a color scheme or theme, selecting your songs, and so much more, you will come together closer than ever as a couple.

Planning a wedding as a newly engaged couple should be cherished! You will share many bonding moments in every aspect of being engaged; however, the wedding is the start of the rest of your lives as a married couple. Be sure you make it fun and memorable!
