What’s the Difference between a Full-Service Wedding Planner vs. a Day-Of Coordinator?

Being event planners, we’re often asked by couples whether or not they should hire a wedding planner.  We feel that this is a decision that couples should make while considering the scope of their wedding as well as their budgets. That said, we have never spoken to a couple who regretted their decision to hire a wedding planner. In fact, most agree that their planner helped them save money and relax on their wedding day!

Some concerns that typically arise about hiring a wedding planner center on budgeting for the planner or the fear of losing control of the planning process.  The fact of the matter is that wedding planners come in many different price ranges, and they can work with you for various amounts of time. You’ll have little trouble finding someone who meets your specific needs and budget.

So, hopefully we’ve convinced you that working with a wedding planner is completely within your budget. Now, which level of planning do you need?

Hire a Full-Service Planner if:

–       You’re unsure how to plan (and stick to) a budget for your wedding.

–       You have a busy job that will make finding time to plan your wedding a challenge.

–       You’re insecure about interviewing and hiring vendors or negotiating contracts (or don’t have time to do so).

–       You need help keeping track of all payment deadlines and paperwork.

–       You would like help creating a look for the wedding.

–       You’re getting married in another city.

–       You like the idea of having an experienced sounding board for all of your ideas.

–       You’re concerned that well-meaning friends and family will encourage you to make decisions that you don’t want to make.

–       You don’t want to be in charge of your wedding during the months prior to and on the wedding day.

Hire a Day-Of Planner if:

–       You like the idea of organizing every aspect of the wedding, including budgeting, negotiating, interviewing and hiring all vendors, and signing all contracts based only upon your review.

–       You have people in your life who will help you with the day-to-day tasks of planning a wedding…and your relationship with them will withstand the stresses of wedding planning!

–       You’re comfortable designing every aspect of your wedding.

–       You don’t need assistance collecting RSVPs, assigning seating, or filling out room diagrams.

–       You don’t want to be in charge of your wedding during the weeks prior to and on the wedding day.

Whatever your wedding planning needs, our team is happy to help you with them. Please reach out to us with any questions you may have!
