Bohemian Hotel Celebration Wedding | Patricia and Ross
June 14, 2012 by Just Marry!
The real wedding of Patricia and Ross was filled with time honored Scottish traditions, from kilts to horseshoes, as they wed at the Lakeside Terrace of the Bohemian Hotel Celebration.
The teardrop roses suspended from the hotel’s archway made for a gorgeous ceremony centerpiece (by the always imaginative and talented florists at Greenery Productions). Below, Patricia shares her wedding day details! Our thanks to Ginger Midgett Photography for the stunning images.
How did you and your spouse meet? We were set up by a friend. She knew both of us, and thought we would make a great couple! Here we are seven years later as husband and wife! She really is cupid!
Tell us about the proposal. We went on holiday to Dubai. Ross arranged for us to go for drinks at a roof top bar, just as the sun was setting, he got down on one knee and asked if I would marry him! The next minute a waiter appeared with champagne and strawberries! It was amazing, I will never forget it!
How did you choose your wedding location? From the moment we drove the car through the town of Celebration, we knew that it was the perfect place. There are so many wonderful things about the town and the Bohemian Hotel: gorgeous venue, the delicious food, the amazing staff, and the wonderful setting; it was just perfect.
In Scottish wedding traditions, a toddler is to hand a horseshoe to the bride as she walks out of the church with her husband. The horseshoe signifies good luck in the marriage.
Did you face any challenges during your wedding planning process? When I first started arranging my wedding, I thought I would face challenges because I lived in Scotland and I was having my wedding in Orlando; however that was not the case. Thanks to Just Marry! and the wedding co-coordinator at the Bohemian Hotel everything was perfect. Anything I asked for, they made sure it happened. I was particularly impressed with my flowers, they were fabulous!
What advice would you give to other couples as they begin their planning process? My advice to other couples would be to try and be as organized as possible, so when it comes to the big day, you don’t need to worry about anything! Relax and enjoy the day, it goes by so quickly… I wish I could pause and rewind, I loved it that much!
What are you most looking forward to in newlywed life? Spending time together as Husband and Wife; I am sure we have many more adventures to looking forward to… the wedding day was just the beginning!
