Our Wedding Day | Planner to Planning

It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for…our wedding day! It didn’t feel real now that it was finally here. All the planning and final details were complete. Now it was time to get married and celebrate!

I woke up surprisingly calm, only to remember it was our WEDDING DAY! The nerves kicked in from there. I did my best to stay busy. Jonathan ordered room service while I munched on dry cereal, trying to get anything I could in me so I didn’t pass out that night. Again, future couples – eat as much as you can while you can!

We went our separate ways and the beauty process began. The beautiful ladies of Beaute Speciale arrived and got to work. It was so comforting to see their familiar faces, knowing my wedding party and I were in excellent hands!

I also got to peek at my stunning bouquet created by Raining Roses. It was like nothing I’d ever seen before, and I knew that the floral for the day would be positively amazing!

My mind was at ease knowing my Just Marry! family members, Victoria and Jessica, had everything under control. Kaitlyn from the Hyatt popped up to check in too. That’s when I knew it was getting close to time to walk down the aisle!

From here, I’ll be honest – it was all a blur. I barely remember going down the elevator to the lobby, and suddenly I found myself in the shuttle headed to the ceremony site. We lined up for the processional, and shortly after that I found my feet moving me slowly to the aisle.

I turned up the steps of Oak Terrace, and straight ahead was my handsome groom, my future, my everything. As he teared up, I found myself looking at him, and then straight to our officiant, my best friend, Joe, trying to keep myself from also tearing up! Besides seeing Jonathan and Joe, everything else was a blur. I didn’t see my guests, décor, anything. I was focused on getting down that aisle without falling!

It felt like in an instant, our ceremony concluded. We were husband and wife!

After the ceremony, I realized my feet were KILLING me in my shoes. We began our post-ceremony photos and I changed right into a pair of sneakers. So much better!

We got through our photos relatively quickly as Miranda Grey, her assistant Midgy, and Marcoz our videographer helped move us along. They made us feel comfortable while taking our photos, which is so important! I truly could not thank them enough!

We made our way into our reception, which was breathtaking! I got emotional thinking of how blessed we were, with such amazing vendors taking care of us on our special day. Kaitlyn met us with a smile, checking in and making sure we had some food before we were announced into our reception. We hid behind our wedding party as they lined up for introductions, and ate a bit.

Hand-in-hand, Jonathan and I stood waiting to officially be announced as “Mr. and Mrs. Palmer”. Then we made our way into the reception and straight to our first dance.

After we took our seats and the speeches were done, it was finally time for dinner. I had waited for this meal for over a year. Jonathan and I picked the Hyatt because I knew the food was spectacular. Unfortunately, being the planner, I spent more time worrying about everyone else. I couldn’t eat!

Our server and banquet captain were so gracious, sending my meal to our room that evening. I finally got to enjoy it, along with our delicious cake! I will forever dream about that cake and return for anniversary cakes.

Before we knew it, the last song played and I looked around at all of our loved ones on the dance floor. We were so incredibly blessed to have these friends, family, and loved ones with us to celebrate our wedding. The song ended and we headed out for our sparkler exit, which was just as magical as the rest of the night!

We circled back to our reception space as things broke down, and I felt a feeling of sadness, but also relief that the planning and stress was behind us. Because of our family, friends, vendors, and every single person who helped with some part of our day,  we had the most wonderful wedding weekend I could have ever imagined. My hard work of planning finally paid off, and I was completely satisfied on how the entire weekend panned out.

It truly was perfect, and most importantly, I was married to the love of my life…my very best friend. We have completed the best day of our lives so far – and we have so much more to look forward to as husband and wife!
