New Orleans couple Joy and Joshua brought their hometown to Orlando for a beautiful Mardi Gras wedding celebration at Paradise Cove in mid-February. This happy couple wanted a romantic elopement where they could experience the Orlando theme parks and entertainment, but they also wanted a Mardi Gras wedding theme reminiscent of the home they love. It turned out to be a festive micro wedding we adored!
The couple’s wedding color palette of green, yellow, and purple was exactly right for their Mardi Gras theme. We also loved Joy’s tea length wedding dress and beautiful bird cage veil! It was just perfect for an elopement and the relaxed vibe Paradise Cove offers, and the dress allowed Joy to show off her stunning dark green wedding shoes. In his stylish gray suit, Joshua proved he was her match in more ways than one.

Favorite detail
Joy and Joshua are from New Orleans, and even though Mardi Gras parties aren’t happening right now, they brought their own Mardi Gras fun to their wedding! From Joy’s bouquet, Joshua’s boutonniere, and both of their accessories, there were many special touches to make this the perfect Mardi Gras wedding!

Most emotional moment
Joy was an absolutely glowing bride. You could tell she was just so happy to be marrying the love of her life! She was beaming from ear to ear the entire day, and it was so great to see her so happy!

A unique element I loved
Joy really ran with the Mardi Gras wedding theme. She even had a fun dark green underskirt under her wedding dress! It was such a fun pop of color and looks gorgeous in their photos.

Joy and Joshua started planning their intimate elopement pre-pandemic, so they were always intending to get married just the two of them. They chose Orlando because Joy had never been to Disney World, so they decided to have their dream Disney vacation instead of a big wedding!
