Behind the Scenes: Christmas Weddings

December 14, 2011 by Just Marry!

We’ve had a record breaking Christmas wedding season thus far, and this past weekend was no exception. With EIGHT events over the weekend for our talented team of coordinators and assistants to oversee, it was all hands on deck! We managed to snap a few pics behind the scenes to share with you– professional photos to follow in the near future, but since these are Christmas-related weddings, we wanted to get some images out ASAP!

The first wedding we have to share took place at Isleworth Golf and Country Club, which features gorgeous ivory and gold Christmas trees in their ceremony and reception space.

Using existing venue decor, especially at the holidays, is a great way to create a cohesive look and a more intimate feel for your wedding. Rather than trying to cover up or compete with your site’s look, consider choosing your colors to match so you can play off of things like the venue’s linens, fixtures, carpeting, or artwork.

Just Marry! Wedding Coordinator, Jennifer Haskell, had this to say about planning your wedding decor, “Decor elements of a venue don’t have to be an obstacle to overcome, but an added piece to your vision. This couple was able to incorporate the venue’s holiday trees into their ceremony and reception site. By working with what they had, they were able to portray a vision of holiday magic. Working off of the red poinsettia fountain that the venue had, the couple added a touch of red rose petals to their tables. The elegant centerpieces of their reception complemented the classic ornament and ribbon decor on the Christmas trees. The entire venue came to life for their wedding by working with the elements that make it unique.”

Although our next wedding didn’t incorporate a Christmas theme directly into their wedding decor, they chose to marry at the Hard Rock Hotel at the Universal Orlando Resort and benefited from the hotel’s festive Christmas atmosphere. As guests moved about the property from ceremony site to cocktail hour to the reception, they were treated to views of the spectacular Christmas trees, garlands, and wreaths. Their red, black, and white color scheme wasn’t Christmas-specific, but it worked well with the existing holiday decor of the Hard Rock Hotel.

Above, ceremony coordinator, Karen, and her assistant, Andrea worked hard to ensure a seamless and stress-free wedding day!

Above, the couple chose a black and white color scheme for the ceremony. Below, they added in a pop of red with napkins to spice things up for the reception.

We hope that you are inspired by these weddings to consider incorporating your hotel’s existing decor, during the holidays and throughout the year, into your wedding vision!
