Wedding photographers capture the most precious memories from a happy couple’s big day, so choosing the right one is of the utmost importance. There are some key things every couple should know as they begin interviewing potential photographers. We reached out to the wedding community and got some great feedback from amazing photography vendors that we wanted to share with you:

  1. Yes, we will be among the most expensive vendors you hire…and here’s why:

“Some photographers pay 35% income tax not including the cost to run their business, save for retirement, liquid savings, etc. It surprises me how many clients believe what they pay us all goes into our pocket.” – Kathy Thomas, Kathy Thomas Photography

  1. You really want to hire a professional photographer you connect with over someone with little experience or just “the right price.”

“After shooting weddings for 27 years in Orlando and the Disney area, I can attest that if couples DO NOT HIRE a Planner/Coordinator, then they look to their photographer for guidance and a time line. I find myself pinning on flowers, calling the florist looking for flowers, making sure the rings and marriage license are there, checking that the limo drivers are on the way so we get to the reception on time, etc. I don’t have a problem with that, it just takes away from what I was hired for and can cost the couple photos they might want.
