Our Feature Friday blog is where you’ll find out what’s happening in and around Orlando. We’ll focus on wedding-related events (but throw in some odds and ends, too, so we keep you guessing!). Know of an event coming up that we didn’t list here? Please comment and let us know!
The first week of June has come and gone, and we’re headed full-speed into the first days of summer. While June is traditionally the most popular wedding month, here in Orlando the wedding season begins to slow down as the heat and hurricanes pick up. There are still plenty of fun things to do, both wedding-related and not, in the days ahead, however! Here are just a few:
6/9/12 – This Saturday brings an opportunity to combine fun with a contribution to a good cause. Venture downtown to Yelp Orlando’s Summertime Street Soiree from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. and enjoy live music, food and drinks served by local vendors, and plenty of other entertainment. The event is free, though a $5 donation benefitting the CityArts Factory and the Downtown Orlando Arts District is suggested.
*Just Marry! Tip: Events like this can be a great way to connect with music and catering vendors. Many vendors in these fields work a variety of events, so don’t be shy about asking musicians and caterers you like whether they also do weddings!
6/10/12 – Sunday kicks off the Sounds Like Summer Concert Series at Walt Disney World’s Epcot®. This popular tribute series runs until July 28th, and begins with a week-long nod to The Eagles. Other tributes include the works of such bands as Bon Jovi, the Police, and U2. Shows run daily at 5:45 p.m., 7:00 p.m., and 8:15 p.m. (with different hours for July 4th).
*Just Marry! Tip: Getting married in the Disney area this summer? If you’re having an intimate wedding, consider bringing your guests to one of the tribute concerts as a fun after-party event!
6/14/12 – Coming up on Thursday , June 14th is the Summer Bridal Bash 2012 hosted by Mystic Dunes Resort and Golf Club. From 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., attendees will be treated to music and cocktails, presentations by local wedding vendors, and a one-of-a-kind raffle. Tickets are $5 in advance or $7 at the door.
*Just Marry! Tip: This is a unique chance to check out vendors as well as a possible wedding venue. Be sure to bring along your camera and a list of questions to walk away from the event with as much information as possible…then reach out to us to help you bring it all together!
These are just a few highlights of Orlando events happening in the coming days. Please tune on future Fridays for other exciting and fun happenings in “The City Beautiful.”
