5 Essential Things Couples Forget for Their Orlando Destination Weddings

Orlando Destination Weddings

By now you all probably know that we specialize in Orlando destination weddings and destination wedding packages. That, of course, means the majority of our couples travel here from other states or (in many cases) other countries. While we do our best to prep our couples about must-haves, there are some essentials that are often still forgotten, which can make for a not-so-memorable visit.

If you’re planning an Orlando destination wedding, you really won’t want to forget:

  1. Sunscreen. Folks come to Central Florida hoping for great weather. What they don’t expect is the intensity of the sun here in the Sunshine State. Even on cloudy days, you should plan to wear sunscreen during your stay in Orlando. We can’t tell you how many destination weddings we’ve coordinated where either the couple or their guests were sporting serious sunburns. That means the poor burned person spends the wedding day in serious pain, not to mention that you really don’t want that in your wedding photos!
  2. A Child Safety Seat. Children age five and under must use a federally-approved child safety seat when traveling by car here in Florida. While you can rent car seats for around $30-$50, experts advise against sharing safety seats. Plus, who knows who used it before your child? If you don’t want the hassle of lugging around your car seat from home, check out the mifold Grab-and-Go Car Booster Seat. Because this safety seat folds up small enough to fit in a child’s backpack, it’s a total game-changer when it comes to traveling with young children! Just be sure to adhere to the age and weight requirements.
  3. Comfortable Shoes. You’ll be doing a lot of walking when you’re here. Seriously. A LOT. Your favorite pair of sandals or flip-flops probably won’t cut it unless you want painful blisters or feet so achy you can barely stand at your own wedding. Much smarter to stick to sneakers or other shoes with padded soles.
  4. An Appropriate Garment Bag. Traveling with wedding attire is an experience all its own. Be sure that you invest in a garment bag meant to protect wedding attire that can be used as a carry on. We love Set Ready Garment Bags for this reason! Also, be sure to call your airline in advance to request special treatment for your attire.
  5. How to Get Everything Home. So many couples get excited about shipping things here in advance for their weddings, not considering that either they or their guests will have to find a way to get it all home. Keep things simple to avoid the expense of checking additional luggage or having to leave something precious behind.

So there…you’re now in the know!
